TAPS:

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States is an organization whose primary mission is to preserve the Constitution and the institutions established by that document, to ensure the defense of the nation and her people, to honor and serve active duty military and veterans, to care for widows and children of  deceased  military and veterans and to encourage good citizenship among its members.
Membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars is restricted to men and women who have served outside the United States in areas where the armed forces were engaged in combat actions against declared and undeclared enemies. Application for membership must include a service record such as the standard form DD 214 indicating location and dates of overseas service. Awards of certain combat medals or campaign ribbons are normally used to determine likelihood of eligibility.
Dues is $16.00 per year. Life memberships are available at rates determined by age.

Membership applications may be obtained by calling the Post, by writing to Brown-James-Buck VFW Post 8607, PO Box 86, Chatham, MA 02633 or by visiting the Post, located at 150 George Ryder Road in Chatham adjacent to the airport.
